What do you do for a living?

I currently work within Korda’s marketing team – helping deliver and manage the brands marketing strategy and efforts. Raising awareness of major video releases through to new products hitting the shelves and everything in between!

What style of angler are you? Do you set your sights on one particular target whether it be a specific fish or do you go to catch as many as possible in the time you have?

Even with relatively limited time, I find myself being drawn to fishing lower stocked lakes. Never been one with a huge tally of carp at the end of a season – a couple of really special Carp a year is enough to keep me ticking…

What are your strengths and when are you out of your comfort zone?

My strengths would be attention to detail and as mentioned above, I like fishing lakes that make youconstantly make you feel inferior and out of a comfort zone.

What are your personal bests and what was your most memorable capture?

I have a couple of carp that sit high up on my list

First would have to be the first Carp I caught from Burghfield – proving that even on limited time, you can still catch Carp from waters that might seem impossible.(oh and caught during my first session out with RG…a coincidence…?)

Second would be a very old Carp from one of the oldest lakes in Surrey’s Blackwater Valley – a Claremont strain fish, which most notably went onto to be stocked into the likes of Savay and other renowned lakes in the area.

Both of which are not my biggest.

What is your biggest bit of advice you can offer someone when it comes to the sport?

– First and foremost enjoy it on a personal level.
Take the best bits from around you and create your own identity and angling style.
– Don’t overcook it! Time away from the lake only makes you want to get back.

What is your go to rig / bait / method when you first start on a water?

I’m a sucker for fishing a Pop-Up. It’s generally a great presentation for exploring new areas of a lake for the first time and without the need for a ‘perfect’ drop!

You can be fishing quickly and efficiently, which I think helps you explore a lake quicker and work out where you need to be spending your time as your trips progress.

Why RG Baits and what RG products do you use and why?

With the market being saturated with bait companies, it almost makes it easier to single out the best ones, and RG was that for me. Quality bait, a comprehensive range and a team that are driven to produce the best – often lost in today’s world…
