PB – Brad Travers
Moments of adrenaline that Brad Travers will never forget!
With the water in front of him seeming fairly lifeless, a change of angle to next door, to where Brad had seen activity the previous day.
Going off a whim, Brad underarmed a solid bag comprised of ‘Hot Shrimp + Liver’ bag mix with a little yellow ‘365™️ Decade Special’ wafter attacked to his rig. Around that he catapulted a sprinkling of sweetcorn, and the trap was set, just incase they returned for the second morning running. An hour passed with no activity, with the rod about to be reeled in, he caught a glimpse of a big fish right at his feet. Five minutes more and he was doing battle with one of the lakes residents, with the fish safely in the folds of the net, a phone call was made.
Not quite knowing what was sat there sulking in the bottom of his net. Brad was just pleased to be off the mark, as he mistakenly thought he had landed a mid twenty. Only when he slipped the fish into a retainer and began to lift her from the water, that mid twenty suddenly became very heavy. Luckily the bailiff was on hand to recognise such a beast, and it was in fact one of ‘Sandhurst’ gems, a fish known as Nige’s at a new PB weight for Brad, bang on the 40lbs mark.
The big carp buzz was in full swing. A celebratory beer drunk, photos flicked through and all talk of events were gone through numerous time.
