There are many permutations for winter baiting strategies depending on the individuals situation so my tip is exactly that. Come winter I tend to reduce the amount of big food items and switch to small items such as pellet. I also adopt a minimal bait amount with only a small mesh bag of glugged Vita-lac pellet. Im looking for one bite at a time during winter and this approach fits that bill. A high attract Primary hook bait coupled with the low oil Vita-lac pellet has accounted for majority of my recent captures over the colder months. Good luck Hoggy.
