A trip to Gigantica’s Road Lake for Kellen Ward Young.

My annual French trip had some come round, this time heading over to Gigantica’s ‘Road Lake’. I came out 5th in the draw, but was pleased to have take up my 3rd choice swim.
I soon set about finding my marks, popping the marker float up on an area of gravel and clay on a bar in 22ft of water. I baited it fairly heavy with a mix of ‘The Formula + Arctic Crab’ and ‘The Formula Red + Plum’ along with maize.
Having fished slow the week before, by my surprise I had a bite the first night being a common named one called ‘Scottie’s’. The week was steady, night time bites were in order and I managed eight takes in total. I had the biggest of the week was a fish named ‘After Work’ at a tad over fifty. The next biggest was the looker of the week a fish called ‘Darky’ at ounces under forty six. I stuck with the same tactics all week and they worked very well. The ‘Road Lake’ is and excellent venue and I would highly recommend it, now on to the main lake but not until 2025!
